Old Chair, New Chair

It seems like everyone in the DIY/crafty blog world is refinishing old chairs...so I thought I'd get in on the action. I love thrift store finds! I found this chair while on one of my treasure hunts. It was only $10.00!!!

I didn't take pictures of my "process", but I have another old chair waiting to be refinished, so I'll write a tutorial for that one. Basically I sanded it down, primed it with gray spray paint primer, then used Rustoleum Semi-Gloss black spray paint. It was THAT easy!

The not-so-easy part was trying to re-upholster the seat. I've never used upholstery tacks before, and OH my, they were a headache! They are pretty fragile, and even using a rubber mallet they still break. It was a pain, but I stuck it out and finally finished! I think it turned out pretty good!

My upholstery job...it's not perfect, but I think it adds character!

On to the next project...
